From Television to Transformation: My Career Journey of Creativity, Community & Self-Love

Writer: Jennifer RabanilloJennifer Rabanillo

f you would have told my younger self that one day I’d be running a wellness-focused creative studio, facilitating sound bowl experiences, and helping women tell their stories, I would’ve blinked twice and said, “Wait… what happened to MuchMusic?”

But like most stories worth telling, my path wasn’t a straight line. It was layered, messy, magical, and deeply personal. So here’s a little peek behind the curtain into the journey that led me here to Styleworthy and beyond.

🎬 The Media Years: Where It All Started

My career began with bright lights, big cameras, and broadcast buzz, right at the heart of Canadian pop culture: MuchMusic. I was part of a generation that helped shape what music and entertainment looked like on screen. Working behind the scenes gave me my first taste of production, branding, and storytelling, the kind that connects with people.

I learned how to produce under pressure, direct with intention, and create stories that moved people, even if it was in a 3-minute music segment.

This time in television laid the foundation for everything that followed.

💡 Building Brands, Events & Experiences

From there, I took those production skills and applied them to events, fashion, and experiential marketing. I wore many hats: creative director, event producer, stylist, and brand consultant, always working behind the scenes to make other people feel seen.

Whether it was launching a new product, styling a campaign, or curating a corporate gala, my goal was simple: create experiences that people remember, ones that touch the heart and make a statement.

I worked with nonprofits, lifestyle brands, and entrepreneurs who, like me, believed in impact over perfection.

The Birth of Styleworthy

In 2020, the world paused and so did I. That’s when Styleworthy Studio was born: a movement and a studio grounded in community, wellness, and creativity. I didn’t just want to produce events anymore. I wanted to create safe spaces for women to connect, grow, and heal, through storytelling, self-expression, and shared experiences.

What started as a passion project turned into a full-fledged studio with memberships, workshops, and intentional programming. From wellness pop-ups and empowerment panels to our now signature Sound Bowl Experience, StyleWorthy became a reflection of everything I’ve learned and everything I stand for.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Wellness, Sound, and Storytelling

In recent years, I’ve leaned even deeper into mindfulness, healing, and identity. I became a certified sound practitioner, hosted guided meditation sessions, and started facilitating sound bowl experiences designed to help others slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.

At the same time, I’ve embraced my role as a speaker, mentor, and author. Sharing my own story, as a first-generation Filipina navigating identity and belonging has helped others begin telling theirs.

Now, I offer storytelling coaching, author mentorship, and speaking engagements that empower others to own their voice and rewrite their narrative.

🌸 Where I Am Now

Today, my career feels like a beautiful intersection of creativity, community, and culture. I continue to offer:

  • Creative direction and brand consulting

  • Event production and experiential campaigns

  • Sound healing and wellness workshops

  • Storytelling support and author coaching

  • And a space, Styleworthy Studio, where all of this can live and breathe together

From MuchMusic to mindfulness, from television scripts to sound bath stillness I’ve learned that it’s all connected. Every version of me was leading me here.

This isn’t just my career,

it’s my calling.
